Thanks so much for sharing your story Beth. It's so powerful to hear how your volunteering experiences have impacted on your life. I used to volunteer doing hospital radio, and I'm still friends with many of the people I met there. It's such a great way to meet different people and develop new friendships. Thank you

Thanks so much for sharing this with us Beth. This is very significant and also very helpful to know about. You never know what people are dealing with. Your generosity, and courage, in putting this out there is much appreciated.

Volunteering was very important in my life too - I started out by helping with meals-on-wheels as a teenager in my school holidays. It taught me about how much small things, like having a conversation and remembering someone, can make such a huge difference to someone's life, and not to underestimate that. Volunteering may sometimes only be doing something small, but it can create such change.
