MORTON KNIT AND NATTER
On Tuesday the 30th September I had the privilege of meeting a ‘new’ knitting group at Jameson Court, Moreton in Marsh.
Hazel was informed of the ‘Small Sparks’ grant from another organisation and had decided to apply for the full £250 to help with equipment and wool so that they have security to continue doing something that the members all enjoy. This is the first group of its kind in the area and one of the group members has read a report on the benefits of knitting for improving the physical and mental wellbeing of all who give it a go.
After applying for the grant and it being agreed the whole group were pleasantly surprised at how quick and easy the process is.
This group are a wonderful bunch of caring people who as well as helping themselves they also help those less fortunate with the products that they knit. The group is slowly expanding and they are more than happy to invite new members of any age to come and give it a go. This is a great chance to get to know your local community.
The group also love to meet up for a chat over a cup of tea (or coffee if you prefer) and biscuits with the occasional cake.
This group meet up fortnightly and if you’re interested and would like more information please either email firstname.lastname@example.org and ask about the knit and natter group or if you would like to call them instead please ring 01608 651415 and request to ask more about the knitting group.
