Thought Provoking Theatre at Dursley Library

Dursley Library welcomed Cam and Dursley residents to a free performance of Everyman Theatre Cheltenham’s ENCLOSURE.

The play was presented by Pricking Thumbs Theatre supported by Arts Council England. It was a fantastic opportunity for 19 visitors to experience live theatre upstairs at Dursley Library. The blacked out space, enhanced by atmospheric lighting and sound, provided the perfect setting for the intimate and intense performance showing both sides of enclosure in post-brexit Britain.  Caro Day, Jude Emmet and Jacquie Crago shared the thought provoking, terrifying and believable story of an enclosed state/community.

In a discussion session after the performance they explained the Scandinavian goddess mythology used in the workshop development of the piece.

Bringing an evening of live theatre to Dursley Library was an important use of the upstairs meeting room as it encouraged new visitors into the space.
