GL11 Project Fete Day

A variety of activities from crafts, face painting, making bracelets, adult colouring, children's colouring in, oil painting on parts of the body. Jane Manning from the World Jungle had a painting done on her arm.

The event was held on Saturday 22nd April at 10.30am to 2.30pm. Fiona Campbell took a picture of Jane and me with the wooden man sat outside.

The café was open with teas, coffees, hot chocolate and squashes. There was also a lot of cakes to choose from.

During the week there are a number of courses held at the GL11 Project, from English, Maths, Cooking (some of the meals made are sold in the café area). There is also a Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme with people with learning barriers. An Adventure group has recently been added to the timetable. There are many more courses to join from Mindfulness, Yoga (sat or standing), Relaxation. A Knit and Natter group is held once a month and a Ukulele group. I'm doing my English on Tuesdays from 12.30-2.30pm with Lesley. I have been writing some stories and poetry. I have saved them onto a memory stick. In September I am hoping to start doing my City and Guilds with my English and get some good levels.

Good news to pass on, I have had some of my poetry published a few years ago.

You have really captured how much fun the GL11 Community Hub is and how much support you can get there.
