South Cerney Angling Club will be holding its very popular annual Free Angling Taster Days for anybody who would like to have a go at fishing, on Saturday July 27th, and Saturday, August 17th 2019
Supported by the Angling Trades Association, and its supporting partners, these events are held as part of National Fishing Month. The idea is to encourage every family member to have a go at fishing whatever the age, gender, or disability, or whichever cultural or social background they may be from.
The sessions are Free to attend, but pre booking is essential as spaces are limited.
Fishing takes place on SCAC’s excellent Gillman’s Lake, Wickwater, Lane, South Cerney (Cotswold Waterpark, Lake 23b), which offers great sport. The event offers a great opportunity to try fishing and appreciate the outdoors. Whether you are new to angling, wish to improve on your current angling skills, or are looking for an activity to try for free during the summer holidays, each participant will receive one-to-one guidance from friendly qualified angling coaches who volunteer their time for these events.
After the fishing session there is an opportunity to do some pond dipping, to learn about the bugs and fish that live in our waters.
The fishing sessions last for approximately 30 minutes, with all fishing tackle, bait, and licences provided for the sessions
Pre booking is essential as spaces are limited.
