…free provision and its work relies entirely on volunteers. It is set in rural surroundings and offers an ever changing range of activites. The projects name indicates that we garden and indeed we do, but there is so much more going on.
At the moment we are doing art and craft, cooking, drama, dance, woodwork as well as Japanese drumming and by tomorrow who knows what ? Every new arrival brings a new talent.
We have good space too as you may have guessed from the range of activities. The garden extends across four acres, we have substantial greenhouse space, two classrooms,a canteen and a woodwork shop as well as wilderness gardens, allotments and more traditional decorative areas. For fun we also keep ducks and chickens and these wander freely around the site.
We are hugely committed to recycling and having secured full waste management licenses recycle garden plastics, aluminium, foil, tin, timber, cardboard and video tapes. We are in fact the only people committed to the recycling of the domestic video.
Our project adjoins a small Garden Centre and within their space,we have secured a number of fund raising opportunities, in the form of our own charity shop, a Pound shop and on sundays and mondays we run the site cafe. Students are encouraged to help in maintaining these areas too.
We have an open door policy, which means that we welcome anyone at any time. We do not set timetables or segregate groups, we do not chase targets,or tick boxes. All who attend make the contribution that is appropriate to them, some drop in for coffee, others will do a morning or afternoon most stay for the day, many are here everyday. Our project is a celebration of the extraordinary people that are the World. You're Welcome to join us at anytime !
We open each weekday between 9.00 am. and 3.30 pm.
